Mid-week Message

Greetings!

And since the famine had spread over all the land, Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe in the land of Egypt. Moreover, all the world came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain, because the famine became severe throughout the world.” - Genesis 41:56-57

This week is Vacation Bible Camp! Stevie is running an excellent camp for the children and youth. Everyday has been full of fun and adventure!

I am enjoying taking the kids through a Bible adventure everyday. We are learning about Joseph. Joseph had many ups and downs in his life, but God was always with him. One of the things the kids will learn later in the week is that Joseph became second in command in Egypt in order to protect everyone from a coming famine. During seven years of plenty, Joseph stored grain. During the following seven years of famine, Joseph provided for all of Egypt and all the surrounding countries as well, keeping many people alive throughout such a terrible tragedy.

Stevie is leading the kids to be like Joseph! On Monday the kids left flyers in the neighborhood inviting Briarwood’s neighbors to participate in a food drive. On Friday, the kids will pick up the food in Briarwood’s shopping cart so that it can be taken to On Rock for those in need. What a creative way to bring the Bible stories to life and lead the kids to live their faith in the community. Thanks to Stevie for organizing and leading this amazing camp experience!

Grace and peace,

Rev. Sarina
