Greetings!
“My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast, and my mouth praises you with joyful lips when I think of you on my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.” - Psalm 63:5-7
For a long time I would pray compline prayers before bed. There is a prayer in Phyllis Tickle’s Divine Hours Pocket Edition that I prayed every night, even after I ceased to pray the full compline prayers. It’s a comforting prayer that lifts so many situations into God’s hands before drifting into sweet sleep.
Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work or watch or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love’s sake. Amen.
May God bless the time you spend in prayer.
Grace and peace, Rev. Sarina
