Greetings!

“YHWH will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters never fail.” - Isaiah 58: 11

As spring is blossoming around us, I have been looking to see if the bulbs I planted in the fall are growing. Some are and have buds already! I was exchanging flower stories with Nancy, and she said that she found a little blue flower that she didn’t plant growing in an unlikely place. It’s beautiful blossom peaked up from behind a rock and out of dry soil. She doesn’t know how it got there, but loves it’s unexpected spring greeting!

This little blue flower reminds me of us in this pandemic. We find ourselves in parched places, missing our communal worship, our fellowship together, our singing. Many aspects of our lives feel like dry, rocky soil, where nothing can grow. But, we are rooted in Jesus. God is a spring of living water, welling up from within us. The Holy Spirit is moving in our lives to raise up surprising blue flowers of joy, hope, peace, and gratitude everyday. Jesus is our guide through this difficult terrain. Remember that even though you feel like you are in a parched place, Jesus’ presence in your life makes you like a watered garden. I encourage you to look for those little blue flowers that God is giving you everyday.

Grace and peace,

Rev. Sarina
