Greetings!

Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.’” - Matthew 19:14

We have exciting news in our congregation. Stevie is pregnant with her third child! She has just over two months left and then her Maternity leave starts at the beginning of November. She and her family are so excited to welcome this little one to the world.

Babies are a gift from God. Celtic Christians in the fourth century said that you could see the goodness of God in the face of an infant. Those of us who have gazed in wonder at a sleeping baby, or a cooing baby, know that there is something sacred—the image of God—in them. Babies and young children learn so much everyday. They are curious and filled with awe. They are quick to love, quick to trust, and quick to believe. Jesus said that we should be like them.

Let us rejoice with Stevie and her family. We look forward to meeting this little one and welcoming them into the Briarwood family! I know other families in the church are also welcoming new babies this year, too, and we look forward to welcoming them, too! As we anticipate welcoming these new babies, let us have faith like little children. Let us let go and let Jesus fill our hearts with hope, peace, joy, and love. Let us trust in God the way that these little ones trust in us. Grace and peace, Rev. Sarina
